RECIPROCAL SCIENCE & WORKING WITH COMMUNITIES

I believe that creating knowledge should be balanced with responsibility for stewarding the places that research is taking place, and thinking ahead to how the knowledge created is useful, and how it will be built on. Who is leading my research, who is helped or harmed from the outcomes of it, how to contribute, as a member of or ally to, Indigenous and local communities are first-order questions that I am trying to prioritize. To this end I engage with diverse research methodologies, always aiming to balance curiosity with responsibility and a commitment to sustainability.

I am still learning and always welcome feedback or perspectives on this topic, please reach out!
